I Made a Magazine! (and I’m climbing Mount Kilimanjaro this summer??)

Life has been absolutely insane lately- I’ve finished up my last semester of my masters program, leaving only my dissertation to complete this summer. I’ve also been traveling a lot the past couple of months and have even more plans in the coming months.

The most exciting plan I have this summer is climbing Mount Kilimanjaro with a group from my University through Dig Deep Africa! Kilimanjaro is the tallest freestanding mountain in the world, and while I’m terrified, I’m so excited for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Leading up to the climb, my teammates and I are fundraising for Dig Deep Africa. They work to provide toilets, clean water, and sanitary products to communities in Kenya. The rest of my fundraising funds the actual climb, employing people in Tanzania to help my team up the mountain safely. I’ll also be spending this summer hiking in Scotland to train and prepare my body and mind for the hike of a lifetime!

One of the ways I’m fundraising is by selling a magazine I spent the last two semesters creating. As part of my masters program, I had an assignment to make a “publishing project”, and I choose to design a 20-page magazine about self-love, eating disorder recovery, and body confidence. I wrote all the text inside, got permission from influencers to include their photos, and had photoshoots with my friends as well. I’m so happy with how it turned out!

If you’re interested in receiving a digital (PDF) copy of the magazine, all I’m asking is for a donation to my Dig Deep page- every little bit goes a long way!

Please go to this link to see how to donate and let me know you’d like a copy of the magazine

I’m so grateful for any and all support! I can’t wait to hike and travel more this summer, and I can’t wait to write about my experiences here!
