My family had about 5 days this whole summer that we could all get off and go somewhere together. Although Disney World wasn’t considered an option by anyone but me (excuse my tears), Florida was somewhere that everyone wanted to adventure. So on Wednesday July 27, 2016 at 3 AM (just an hour after I got home from work, #TrackLife) we loaded up a tiny rental car, picked up my boyfriend Shane, and headed out for the 13 hour drive to Panama City Beach, Florida!
Although the rental car people lied about our vehicle “comfortably seating six”, we made it to the coast and found our cute little beach house with no problems!

The first thing we did after unloading our stuff and going over the “house rules” was head to the beach! The flag was red, so mom wouldn’t let us swim, but we frolicked around the shore, putting our feet in the water and absorbing the beauty of the sea.
After we left the beach, we decided to walk a little bit and find some pizza! We ended up walking along the road (on sidewalks most of the time) for a mile until we found a Cici’s Pizza and decided it was good enough. I really enjoyed the familiar tastes of Cici’s, and we shared some laughs at the table as well.

After walking back to the house- another mile, in the dark- us kids played a few rounds of Exploding Kittens, then headed to bed so we could get plenty of rest for our next beach adventure in the morning! Stay tuned for my next post about our first full day in Florida, which may or may not contain some ocean puns (it will)!

Love the picture of you and Shane when the sun was setting.
